Here's What Was New:
April 2001
April 28, 2001
I have added a whole new website subsection, called
Some Fossils of Hanover County Va. to display
the fossils I find in my backyard creek. Enjoy!
April 23, 2001
I have added yet another new script to Javascript Workbench this morning
(I am really on a roll this weekend!)
The Stopwatch
is a standard, four-function stopwatch simulated in javascript.
This is my second draft, and more improvements are coming.
April 23, 2001
I have added another new script to Javascript Workbench.
The Flickering Candle and its Accounting This script displays two
things: First, javascript can be used to control animations. Second, javascript can track and
tally events, and perform simple accounting tricks. Enjoy!
April 22, 2001
I've added another new utility to Javascript Workbench,
The HTML Source Code Disguiser. This script converts
your HTML code into something humans find hard to read, but browsers
handle just fine. Visitors who try to use their browser's View Source command
to examine or seize your web site source code
will see only a disguised version of your code.

The Right Click Fooler is the newest trick in the fight against
image-theft. While nothing can completely protect copyrighted images
from a persistent and clever image thief, this measure prevents
the common right-click technique. I put it in Javascript Workbench Basics,
even though it is a CSS trick.
April 20, 2001
I have added a new script to the Basics section of Javascript Workbench.
The Last Modified Date Displayer does exactly
what its name says!
April 15, 2001
Southern States Cooperative,
where I work as an independent contractor on the Internet Development Team,
just launched our website redesign. We are proud! I put
several screenshots
of the new and old (1999) sites in my commercial portfolio.
Enjoy the new baby!
April 13, 2001 I've added
several items about my recent discovery of the upcoming [now past!]
Javascript Trillionth Millisecond. On September 8, 2001, most browsers
worldwide will count their one trillionth millisecond since the
epoch began in 1970.
See The Epoch Chronometer and
The Trillionth Millisecond Countdown. The
javascript code for these counters is
found in Javascript Workbench. There is also a
longer article I wrote about
my discovery and confirmation of the Trillion Millisecond event.
April 12, 2001 I've added
a new utility to Javascript Workbench called
The Date Sniffer.
This script prints out your browser's Date object's properties. Simple, but
it demonstrates succinctly how to script with the Date object.
April 8, 2001 In my Backgrounds area are two new
seamless background tiles, based on my April 2001 photography. See
Rose Leaves and
Meadow Flowers.
April 7, 2001
GYWH was down for a few hours today as I migrated to a new hosting account.
I hope no one was inconvenienced. I'm still getting some of the mess cleaned up,
so if you see any bugs, wait a few days or give me a shout.
April 4, 2001
I have put together an archive of some of my old front pages, called
Ghosts of My Front Pages Past.
Some of them are already dated and quaint. Webspeed!
